This is a picture of me horseback riding. I have been riding since I was a little girl and have always had a passion for horses. I am also on the Equestrian Team here at Bloomsburg University.

Below are the goals for my Foundations of College Writing Course.
For each goal, I've selected work that demonstrates how I addressed that goal during the course,
and explained how, citing specific examples from my work.

Goal
My Work
My explanation
Goal A - Students will be able to compose
for particular audiences and purposes
I wrote a paper on an interview I had with a psychologist.
In my interview I was aiming my writing to be read by audiences such as psychology majors/minors,
researchers, and anyone interested in the sociopaths, since thats what her article of choice was. The audience would
read this paper because it simply interests them.I helped met this goal by using P.A.G.E.
Goal B - Students will be able to compose using
language and conventions appropriate to genre
I wrote a diary entry.
When writing the diary entry I was writing for "myself" through Sara's voice, meaning I was using first person.
I did this by using specific words and language.
Ex:"I" This entry appealed to "myself" since that was the purpose of me writing and it was a place I told secrets.
I knew others were going to be reading it so I made sure they would understand the daily struggles alcoholics deal with.
I helped met this goal by using L.O.V.E.
Goal C - Students will be able to read, select, and use

evidence critically to formulate and support arguments
I wrote a timeline.
When putting together my timeline I had to do a good amount of research to get facts and evidence that backed up my
topic. By doing so I was able to support my argument and
explain why AA is the best way recovery option! I had to read through materials and select certain events that were best
for my project.
Goal D - Students will be able to interpret and compose in

a variety of media and print/non-print genres
Timeline
Article
Brochure
I designed and wrote a brochure, timeline, and article. When doing so, I made sure they looked professional and appealing
to the eye as well. For example, I lined up picture, used the same font and colors.
Goal E - Students will be able to describe and apply

appropriate writing processes, both individually

and in collaborative contexts
Peer review and new work
I used past peer revision sheets to guide me when writing new
genres. This helped me prevent from repeating the same
mistakes and produce the best final product.
